Megan is a Partner in our Commercial and Property teams, with over 25 years’ experience advising businesses, families, and organisations across a broad range of legal matters.
She works alongside well-established and high-growth companies, both locally and nationally, assisting with business structuring, expansion, and strategic transactions. Megan has experience navigating complex corporate arrangements, including multi-entity structures, reorganisations, and amalgamations.
Her commercial practice includes the preparation and negotiation of significant contracts, intellectual property and technology licensing, shareholder arrangements, and tailored commercial agreements. Megan is known for a pragmatic, forward-looking approach, helping clients understand risk while identifying opportunities to support long-term success.
Megan’s experience spans a variety of industries, including construction, professional services, and transport and logistics. She regularly advises small to medium-sized enterprises on day-to-day business matters, as well as succession planning, business acquisitions and disposals, franchising, and terms of trade.
She has a strong interest in family trusts and personal asset planning, working with clients and their advisers to develop structures that reflect both commercial and personal considerations. Megan enjoys supporting clients in all aspects of estate planning, and provides advice to charitable entities and not-for-profit organisations.
In the property space, Megan advises on a wide range of transactions, including residential and commercial sales and purchases, leasing, and more complex development projects, including unit title developments.
Megan is actively involved in the community. She currently serves as Chair of the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra Foundation Board and holds other governance roles and has mentored in community governance for the Mentoring Foundation of New Zealand. She is a member of the Institute of Directors and an organiser of the annual Cancer Society Spring Ball. Megan believes meaningful corporate engagement is essential to support the work of the community and not-for-profit sector.
