Layla joined Downie Stewart as an Office Junior after working as a Community Associate at Regus Dunedin. She attended Kaikorai Valley College before beginning her career in administration and customer service, while also completing an Accounting Support Certificate online.

Layla was drawn to the legal profession because it offers continuous opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and work in a professional environment where no two days are the same.

As an Office Junior, Layla enjoys supporting teams across the firm and contributing wherever she is needed. She particularly values the variety the role offers and the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from different practice areas.

Her favourite thing about working at Downie Stewart is the people. She says everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, creating an environment where she has felt encouraged to learn, grow, and build confidence in her role.

Outside of work, Layla enjoys making the most of Dunedin's warmer months by spending time outdoors, heading to the beach, and catching up with friends and family.
