Matthew Haggart.
Matthew is a senior commercial and property lawyer, who now specialises in estate and trust administration. He joined the Downie Stewart team in 2021.
He works with private clients across the scope of legal practice advising on commercial transactions, succession and estate planning, residential transactions, and relationship property.
Matthew has a journalism background. His legal experience at a family-owned sole practice firm taught him independence, adaptability, and the importance of being methodical when working with clients to achieve their desired outcomes.
Outside work, Matthew is engaged in his children's activities, coaching sports teams and holding leadership roles at their school and clubs. An active sports enthusiast, he plays golf, squash, and supports Dunedin clubs. In winter, he enjoys skiing at Treble Cone with his kids.
