Liquor Licensing

To sell alcohol of any sort and in any way in New Zealand, the seller needs a licence issued under the Sale of Liquor Act.  Licences have to be renewed from time to time as well.

Licences are also required to make any alcoholic drink for selling.  For instance, vineyards that make their own wine or have it made for them are required to have a winemakers licence, additional to the licence to sell it.

Downie Stewart is experienced in this work, and acts for licensed liquor outlets and vineyards throughout Otago.

Paul Buckner has particular expertise in this area of law.
