Carmen works in our Balclutha Office.
She is an experienced lawyer who has been practicing in Balclutha for over 14 years. She understands the region and rural issues and is able to provide advice on most matters.
Carmen is a property and family lawyer with a particular strength in advocating for clients dealing with relationship property and care of children issues after a relationship breaks down.
Carmen represents Downie Stewart in offering a full range of services to the South Otago region. She is supported by the resources and expertise of the team at Downie Stewart in Dunedin. This means that specialist lawyers can be called on as required to assist clients. It also means that lawyers, legal executives and support staff can be involved as required to provide the necessary resources to ensure that client needs are met in a timely manner.
Carmen is very involved in the South Otago community. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Warepa School. She is a COGS (Community Organisation Grants Scheme) committee member of the Coastal Otago Committee. COGS is a community-driven, government-funded scheme that provides essential support to grassroots voluntary and non-profit community organisations. She is passionate about hockey and is President of the Clutha District Hockey Committee. She is also President of the newly formed Balclutha chapter of Business Network International ( a local group of like-minded business people working together to develop business opportunities in the region).
And last but not least she has a partner and three young children.
